Myoporum Garden Armour |
Garden Armour is a superior groundcover that grows as living mulch, tolerating extremely low rainfall and high temperatures. Profuse dainty white star shaped flowers appear during summer. Garden Armour was originally selected from Myoporum parvifolium plants growing along the cliffs of the Murray River South Australia by local bush safari operator and author Rex Ellis. This attractive drought tolerant ground cover is the perfect choice to protect and defend your garden and landscape from weeds. Garden Armour's natural succulent like foliage reduces reflective and radiant heat. Garden Armour's growth habit is naturally prostrate and grows to approximately 0.1 meters in height and radiates to a width of 0.5 - 0.75 meters. Garden Armour grows best in full sun in open areas and is adaptable to most well drained soils. This ground cover is very hardy and requires little maintenance. Myoporum parvifolium of similar varieties also marketed in the plant industry are Myoporum Yareena and Myoporum Lime Carpet . Plant Breeder: Darren Wallace would like to dedicate this plant to Rex Ellis www.bushsafari.com.au a percentage of the revenue from the sale of this plant will go to Birds Australia who conserve and help the study of native birds and their habitats. |
